The Yorkshire Dales are unique. They provide a diversity of scenery that is rarely matched. The weather is equally diverse. Changes are not only seasonal, monthly, or day to day. Often hourly, and more frustratingly a fleeting moment can change a dull and uninspiring scene into one that is magical. Photographers spend their life waiting for the light. This image was taken after a particularly uninspiring and unproductive day walking the moors above Malham. With evening approaching the sky became golden and an ethereal mist developed on the horizon. Within seconds the breeze stiffened and it was gone-like a ghost. This enchanted landscape is full of surprises- we just have to be there when it decides to entertain us!
